๐ŸŒŒ Paint a glittery night sky for Poppy

A magic trick with crayons and paint: the stars appear all by themselves! Grown-up help needed for the paint and glitter.

You will need

  • ๐Ÿ–๏ธ A white wax crayon (or a candle stub)
  • ๐Ÿ“„ Thick white paper or card
  • ๐ŸŽจ Blue and purple watercolour paint, and a big brush
  • ๐Ÿง‚ A pinch of table salt
  • โœจ Glitter glue (optional)
  • โœ‚๏ธ Your Poppy drawing, scissors and a glue stick
  1. Draw secret stars. Press hard with the white crayon to draw stars, dots and swirls. You'll hardly see them yet, and that's the magic.
  2. Paint the sky. Brush watery blue and purple paint all over the paper. Watch the crayon stars pop out as the paint slides off the wax!
  3. Add sparkle. While the paint is still wet, sprinkle a tiny pinch of salt. As it dries, the salt makes little starry patterns. Brush it off once it's completely dry.
  4. Glitter time. Dot a few stars with glitter glue, just like Poppy's sneezes. Leave it flat to dry.
  5. Send Poppy flying. Cut out your Poppy from the drawing guide above and glue her into the sky.
